At each class meeting, you should bring: Textbook, notebook paper, dictionary, pencil and eraser.

Grading guidelines
Writing exercises Textbook exercises. To prepare to write by getting vocabulary and ideas. These will be done in the textbook during class or for homework. These will generaly not be collected. Instructor will check whether homework was done during free writing.
Free writing
Ten minutes of writing done without stopping.
To develop fluency.
Write at the beginning of each class. No dictionaries.
Count the words. The more the better! So, don't be late for class.
Grammar practice
Worksheets or sentence writing in textbook.
To develop accuracy.
Teacher will provide grammar worksheets as needed.
Accuracy.
First draft
Handwritten paragraph
To use grammar and organization in original writing.
Handwritten on notebook paper. Skip every other line.

・Paragraph format.
・Accuracy (spelling and grammar).
・Organization of ideas.
・Message: something interesting to say

Revised draft
Typed paragraph.
To revise and polish a piece of writing.
This is typed. Use "hankaku", not "zenkaku" spacing.

・Presentation.
