After you have taken notes, organize them into different themes. Many students find this easiest to do using COLORS!

If your notes are handwritten, it is easy to mark each theme with colored pens or highlighters. If you have already typed your notes into the computer, use colored fonts.

There will probably be several ways to organize your notes. As your ideas develop, don't be afraid to move the notes around again and again. This is your basic CUT-and-PASTE -- with real scissors and glue!

You have 11 different references for your paper on CATS. (You can see them in the Examples of Sources pages.) This is one way how your notes from these references could be organized using colors.

PURPLE = When cats get sick
ORANGE = Training your cat
